India gets a lot of flak for being an “imperfect" country by its own citizens.

We regularly take a jibe at our “culture”, “infrastructure”, and you name it. The list of criticisms is never ending.

And all these ideas about the country are so defeatist that people who live here have an inherent tendency now to self-hate. Yes, hating your country is like hating yourself.

We never accepted being Indian as a fantastic blessing, how would we expect others to accept us?

India is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. If I may go as far as to say it is the most beautiful countries in the world. I am truly blessed than anyone else to be born here.

The literature that is available. The fact that we assimilated English as a language and now are open to all kinds of literature all over the world.

The fact that our languages are so well made and based in Sanskrut that we can pick up any other language easily.

The fact that Hinduism has penetrated through the soul and soil of this land and has given a greater foundation for literature, food, music, culture, knowledge and above all ideas.

Any other country would just not do. While they are all great on their own merits. I believe my destiny bringing me here on this land has blessed me.

I know the pollution is killing us, or that the infrastructure isn’t right. But the country itself is not at fault. The people are. The land which is called India should not be the one at the receiving end of any hate.

We ought to criticize human nature’s negative side which causes all these problems. India on the other hand, is continuing to be giving, fertile and above all assimilating.

It is we who are being divisive.

I apologise to this land on behalf of my fellow Indians for the unrequited criticism it receives regularly. Your magnificence is unknown to the small minds.
